Volunteer Openings

We often say, “There is a place for everyone at the Free Clinic, those in need of care and those who care.”

“For someone like me, an early retiree with time on his hands, volunteering has been a very rewarding experience — a chance to help those that have not had the opportunities I have. We Help Services has been an especially good place to work due to the respectful and caring attitude toward the clients and the friendly camaraderie among the staff and volunteers.”
        Wayne Hoover, Eight-year Volunteer

There are many volunteer opportunities at the Free Clinic. You can make a difference to others in the community by volunteering a morning or afternoon. We welcome individuals or groups that wish to volunteer on a regular basis as well as businesses, school, or church groups that may want to volunteer for a one-time special project. Projects for groups have included painting, sorting food, organizing donated medical materials, cleaning, cooking, landscape improvements, packing holiday packages, and working at events. Businesses, churches or school groups wishing specific projects sometimes also complete work off site.

Current openings are listed below. To apply for an opening, you must submit a volunteer application, or contact the Director of Volunteers and Special Events.

Volunteer Orientation

The orientation session is an opportunity to learn more about the Free Clinic organization and to hear about current volunteer openings. After attending a session, a volunteer makes a decision about a specific role to fill. Volunteer Orientation Sessions are held twice a month:

  • On the second Tuesday of the month, the session is held at 10:00AM.
  • On the third Tuesday of the month, the session is held at 3:30PM.
