APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE — Call 727–327-0333
36 professional doctors and 35 nurses volunteer their time and services to see patients whose medical needs meet qualifying criteria.
Patients who see Health Center doctors and/or the Nurse Practitioner are assisted with medications for the short term at little or no cost. On a long term basis, patients who qualify are assisted with obtaining medications through the pharmaceutical Drug Assistance Program (DAP).
“I have Type 2 Diabetes. In April of 2010, my A1C was 10.4 and my health was suffering. The nursing staff at the Free Clinic Health Center introduced me to their Health Educator. I started attending the Diabetic Classes on Monday evenings. I also met one-on-one with the Diabetic Educator. I learned what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, and ways to take care of myself. With the help of the medical staff at the Free Clinic Health Center I was able to bring my A1C down to 5.7 — within the normal range.”
