Health Center

Free Clinic Health Center functions as an urgent care clinic for adults aged
18–64 without private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and  who do not qualify by low income for county health care.

36 professional doctors, 1 acupuncturist, and 35 nurses volunteer their time and services to see patients whose medical needs meet qualifying criteria.

Patients who see Health Center doctors and/or the Nurse Practitioner are
assisted with medications for the short term at little or no cost.
On a long term basis, patients who qualify are assisted with obtaining
medications through the pharmaceutical Drug Assistance Program (DAP).

“I have Type 2 Diabetes. In April of 2010, my A1C was 10.4 and my health was suffering. The nursing staff at the Free Clinic Health Center introduced me to their Health Educator. I started attending the Diabetic Classes on Monday evenings. I also met one-on-one with the Diabetic Educator. I learned what to eat, when to eat, how to eat, and ways to take care of myself. With the help of the medical staff at the Free Clinic Health Center I was able to bring my A1C down to 5.7 — within the normal range.”
