donated food to the Free Clinic Food Bank. The result was 350 pounds of food.
Bay Point Elementary is collecting food for the Food Bank from November 2
through November 19.
On October 17th, the Florida Orchestra gave a free concert at Vinoy Park. The
Orchestra not only filled the cool evening with beautiful music but also filled out
bins with much needed food - approximately 3,000 pounds! Volunteers who
helped out on short notice were Rachel Flaherty, Joe Conrad, Brendan McDowell
and Michael Yunker from Eckerd College; Stefon Maroney from Stetson; and
three of our own volunteers: Jane and David Egbert and Jody Malsbury.
On October 30th, 7th grade students from Shorecrest Preparatory School
delivered 732 pounds of food from their food drive. While here, they attended an
orientation about the Free Clinic and sorted all the food they brought in.
On Saturday, November 7th, nineteen troops, packs and crews from Boy Scouts
of America Skyway District scouted for food and collected over 5500 pounds of
food.
