To all the staff and volunteers of St. Petersburg Free Clinic,
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of
the staff and the volunteers at St. Petersburg Free Clinic. My son
(who is out of work and has no insurance) recently made an
appointment with you for a suspicious bump on his face. After
the initial appointment you made arrangements for him to come
back to see Dr. Hamilton at a later date. Dr. Hamilton diagnosed
the problem and took care of it on the spot. It turned out not be
cancerous, thankfully, which was what we were most concerned
with. This was a huge relief. An even bigger relief was that he
was able to get the medical care he needed without insurance
or a lot of money, as he has neither. The best thing of all is how
respectful and kind each of your staff was to him from start to
finish. Everyone he dealt with was professional and courteous;
he received a call before each of his appointments to confirm,
and when one of his appointments needed to be cancelled due
to the physician's schedule, he was alerted as well, with
apologies.
Times are hard and we all are doing our best in this economy.
For your organization to be as organized as it is when you
obviously have a huge portion of the public to serve is beyond
commendable, it is amazing. Without naming names, I will tell
you that my son first approached a different community clinic
with quite the opposite result before approaching St. Petersburg
Free Clinic. This is part of the reason that we were so
impressed with your staff and services. You probably serve
more individuals daily than any other community organization
offering medical care to the public does in a week, but you go
one step further...you do it with kindness. People are not only
served, they are served with respect and dignity. That is so
important to people who may already be suffering through
difficult circumstances of their own.
I just wanted each of you to know that what you do is
appreciated. Each of YOU is appreciated.
I can't help but want to spread the word about what a wonderful
place St. Petersburg Free Clinic is.
