| BEACON HOUSE |
The mission of Free Clinic Beacon House is to provide safe, supportive, temporary and transitional shelter
to single, homeless men and to provide evening meals to anyone in the community who is hungry.
Free Clinic Beacon House is a temporary and transitional shelter offering 30 beds to single, homeless men.
Referral information, clothing, and personal hygiene items are provided. In 2007, 11,000 nights of shelter were
provided.
Free Clinic Beacon House also functions as a community kitchen, serving dinner six nights a week to all who
are hungry in our community. Last year, over 24,000 meals were served.

Cook an Evening Meal
Must have ability to cook for a crowd of 80-120
people. Food and kitchen provided. Must be in good
health. Suitable for an individual or small group.
Time Requirement: Must have dinner ready by
4:30PM. Opportunities available Monday-Friday.
Evening Assistant
Work in the early evening registering clients and
helping them with chores and clothing choices.
Assist staff as needed.
Time Requirement: Choose a 2-hour block between
5:00PM and 8:00PM. Opportunities available
Monday-Friday.
Food Server
Serve food from steam table to population of
homeless and any others in our community who are
hungry.
Time Requirement: 5:00 PM - 6:00PM. Opportunities
available Monday-Friday.

- Single sheets
- Bath towels
- Paper plates
- Napkins
- Paper and Styrofoam cups
- Personal hygiene items for men: deodorant,
soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving
cream - Ear plugs
- Shoes: work shoes and boots, in particular
- Underwear and socks
- Cleaning supplies
- Black pants
- Seasonal clothes in good condition
